The Red Baron
The name is very appropriate like father like son. Wie Weltmeyer has been one of the top stallions of German dressage horse breeding. According to the FN breeding evaluation, he is currently registered with the same dressage index of 151 as Weltmeyer himself. While this world famous Celle sire has long since written Hanoverian breeding history with 81 licensed sons, 1,265 registered daughters and his descendant have won 1,899,540, his son Wie Weltmeyer took the path of an athletic career at first.
After the licensing in Verden in 1992 and winning the HLP with an overall index of 135.36 in Medingen in 1993, Wie Weltmeyer advanced from jumping and dressage horse tests, in the final qualification of the Federal Championships of German Dressage Horses in 1996, to Grand Prix classes. He reached the international stage with Emma Hindle and was a reserve for the British team for the Olympic Games in Sydney 2000. The pair were shone at the European Dressage Championships in Hickstead (eighth individually) Wie Weltmeyer played a significant part in gaining the team Bronze medal for Britian. In 2004 both took part in the Olympic Games in Athens.
Through numerous successes in dressage, Wie Weltmeyer so far achieved a winning amount of 40,190 Euros. At the same time he has also established himself as sire, already leading to a descendant winning amount of 38,909 Euros in the FN Breeding Yearbook by 2008. In this way not only Wie Weltmeyer himself, but also his descendants have been successful right up to the Grand Prix. |
